  20101201_184536 D3.jpg - The San Francisco Church (Convent) was originaly built as a monastery in 1678.  In 1826 Simon Bolivar attempted to unite all of Latin America and the delegates met together in the Convent (Church).  While the initial unification attempt failed, several countries were liberated.  When the convent section was restored, it housed the Foreign Ministry of Panama and has been renamed Salon Bolivar (Palacio) in his honor
